Hanja Word Drill: 南 – 남녘 남
Now we come to the last of the four cardinal points. The hanja of that direction is 南 [남], a very intricate-looking hanja. Like all cardinal points, this character finds most of its uses in vocabulary where direction matters. As you can imagine you can mix it with the other cardinal points to make even more directions. Let’s take a look.
Hanja #47: 南 – 남녘 남
The last of the four cardinal points we’ll discuss is the South. The South is represented by the hanja 南 [남]. The cardinal hanja are hardly ever used on their own in Korean. In Korean you need to add something to these hanja to make more clear what aspect of these cardinal points you mean.
If you happen to know any other word you think has this hanja, let us know in the comments.
